Bob Ong wisdom (on love)

I received this email from Ana (my faithful clicker. wink-wink) yesterday but I didn't read it entirely. Not until last night when Karen, Edith and I had dinner at KFC was this email brought about. Ruby followed a little later and the topic was brought up again. I can't fully relate with them because I only remembered #19 but I can surely tell it's so0o0o0o darn funny with how they "laughingly" recite the lines that stuck to them. Well, just wanna share them. Have a good laugh!

19. “Ang pag-ibig parang imburnal…nakakatakot mahulog…at kapag nahulog ka, it’s either by accident or talagang tanga ka..”

I never owned a Bob Ong book but I got to read
Bakit Baliktad Magbasa ng Libro ang Mga Pilipino? (Why do Filipinos read books upside down?) (Don't get us wrong folks, we Filipinos read books like normal people do!) and A B N K K B S N P L A Ko?! (Wow, I can really read now?!). I borrowed them from Gretz who is an avid collector of his works.

Only after deciding to post this in my blog did I know (by searching the net of course!) that
Bob Ong's identitiy is protected by his publisher. Wow, after his bestseller books he remained anonymous?!?! Amazing! I think he is one person the papparazzi should seek after.

This blog entry left me wondering now...Is he a Tsinoy? What amount of loyalty would keep his peers' mouths zipped about his identity? (Kudos to them!)Do they know him as Bob Ong in the first place? Why is he keeping his identity a secret? How would he feel if suddenly he's true identity is revealed...by a squealer? Will it bother him?

Okay, 'nuff of these. Whether Bob Ong goes public or not, it doesn't matter. Let's just enjoy his books. Which reminds me, I should borrow
Stainless Longganisa from Gretz.

A Woman's Worth - Alicia Keys

You could buy me diamonds
You could buy me pearls
Take me on a cruise around the world
Baby, you know I'm worth it
Dinner light by candles
Run my bubble bath
Make love tenderly to last, and last
Baby, you know I'm worth it

Wanna' please; wanna' keep;
wanna' treat yourwoman right?
Not just told, but to show, that she knows she's worth your time
You will loose, if you choose, to refuse to put her first
She will and she can find a man who knows her worth!
Mmmmmmmmm

'Cause a real man knows a real woman when he sees her (when he sees her)
And a real woman knows a real man
Ain't 'fraid to please her (please her)
And a real woman knows a real man always comes first (first)
And a real man just can't deny
A woman's worth

If you treat me fairly I'll give you all my goods...
Treat you like a real woman should
Baby, I know you're worth itIf you never play me
Promise not to bluff I'll hold you down when it gets rough'
Cause baby, I know you're worth it

She rolls the mile; makes you smile, all the whilebeing true
Don't take for granted the passions that she has for you
You will lose, if you choose, to refuse to put her first
She will and she can find a man who knowsher worth!...OH!

No need to read in between the lines
Spell it out for you (spell it out for you)
Just hear this song 'Cause you can't go wrong when you value(Better value...)
A woman's, woman's, woman's, woman's Worth!

gotta run...i know you're gonna kill me...

Test of Humility

It is ironic when one asks another if he/she is humble and then the moment the person answers "Yes" then humility is quickly "lost". Probably it wasn't there after all. If this is the case, how would you answer then? Think about what John Flavel said:

"They that know God will be humble and they that know themselves cannot be proud"

Here are 7 characteristics to ponder on taken from last Sunday's sermon.

1. react to criticism

2. defensive when corrected

3. easily hurt

4. hard to apologize

5. blame others

6. focus on image

7. crave for recognition

How did I fare? Shamefully, I didn't do good. Got to work it out.
